Cavan is a Scottish designer working in natural/low impact colour application in fashion and textiles. A deep understanding of the fashion design and production system has allowed Cavan to place natural dye application from small scale sampling to larger scale production both within her Scottish dye facilities and collaborating with industrial mills.
Working holistically with a plethora of industry professionals such as creative design directors, farmers and factory leads has allowed Cavan to showcase the contemporary aesthetics and environmental benefits of natural dyes within the current system of fashion.
She will discuss the different projects and process in working with luxury fashion houses to small artisanal brands and her interests around responsible design choices, locality, and circularity in different areas of the industry.
Each Dye Garden Social event is free to attend and has been kindly supported by Creative Scotland.
