Arteles Residency - week one

August 10, 2015

One of the studio/accommodation buildings at Arteles

I'm really lucky to be spending August here at the Arteles Centre (pictured above) in rural Finland on a residency alongside seven other artists from all over the world.

The last few months have been particularly hectic, so I feel very privileged to be able to take time out from my regular studio activity and think about new work and process recent things.

The first week has flown by in a haze of working in lino again for the first time in over a decade, cycling around the rural lanes taking in the amazing scenery, eating fresh berries, reflecting on things...

...and of course getting inspired by packaging - Finnish naturally.

*This residency was made possible with the generous financial support of Creative Scotland's Open Project Funding.
