🌱 Growing Season Kickoff: Soil Prep, Composting, and Dye Garden Fun! 🌸
Join us for a hands-on event to kick off the growing season and make preparations for a vibrant year ahead! Whether you're a seasoned gardener or just getting started, this event is packed with practical tips, fun activities, and plenty of green-thumb inspiration.
What to Expect:
- Soil & Raised Bed Prep: Learn how to get your soil ready for planting and help us prepare our new raised beds for the season. We will be looking at our existing beds and learning how to add a variety of soil improvers to them based on our plants needs to create optimum growing in 2025.
- Composting Basics: learn how to integrate this into your space, whatever size you have and how to support to healthy soils and the wealth of life they contain. We will be using our own compost collection to talk through and demonstrate the essentials of composting.
- Start Your Own Dye Garden: You'll have the opportunity to plant seeds for your very own dye garden at home! Create your own collection of natural dyes to grow at home and use for future craft projects.
Looking Ahead: As your dye garden flourishes, we will invite you to join us later in the year when we’ll explore simple colour extraction methods using your homegrown woad. Bring your own harvest, and we’ll guide you through turning your plants into vibrant dyes.
Whether you're looking to learn, grow, or just enjoy the outdoors with like-minded gardeners, this workshop will leave you inspired and ready to dive into the season!
